Gebruik je verstand en je kracht om je een weg te banen door een reeks steeds moeilijker wordende levels - en in deze bijgewerkte versie van de game kun je zelfs met een tweede speler spelen in de lokale coöpstand. Haal de mini-Mario's terug: Donkey Kong wilde een nieuwe Mini-Mario hebben, maar ze waren allemaal uitverkocht. Daarop besloot hij om in te breken in de fabriek waar ze worden gemaakt en ze allemaal te stelen! Het is aan Mario om achter Donkey Kong aan te gaan en het speelgoed terug te halen.
Wees inventief met puzzels en platformuitdagingen: er staan Mario allerlei levels vol puzzels te wachten. Speel door elk level en gebruik de sleutel om de vergrendelde deur te openen en zo een Mini-Mario te vinden. Kijk goed rond, gebruik je verstand om de beste route te ontdekken en zet je platformvaardigheden in om obstakels te overwinnen en al het speelgoed terug te halen.
Met z'n tweetjes: geef een controller aan een tweede speler en speel in coöp. Een vriend of familielid kan je misschien helpen om nieuwe routes in lastige levels te vinden.
