3D Driving and Racing Games — Brand New Unity Games With Great Graphics (2024)

Thanks to the power of the Unity WebGL Engine, there have been a lot of free online Driving and Racing browser games released in full 3D graphics. With near-native level of graphics, especially for those lower end spec laptops and PCs, these 3D games are great for those who can’t afford more expensive pieces of kit. The Driving and Racing genre has seen a spate of excellent releases with the promise of more on the horizon.

Unity WebGL is a great new engine that allows the introduction of fantastic 3D graphics into the browser. It creates smooth experiences and seamless gameplay, amazing for games that pop right out of your low-end PC. Mobile Device browser can’t quite handle Unity, but that’s okay because it actually means that 3D Driving and Racing Games really fit to using a keyboard to play!

A game released in October 2018, this is one of our favorite new 3D racing games to play now. Russian Car Driver ZIL 130 is a new game from the Russian Car Driver series in which you take control of a beastly Soviet-era Truck, the ZIL 130. You’re given a handful of missions to complete to become the ultimate long-haul truck driver. Move from driving in cities to driving through beautiful countryside, all rendered in fantastic 3D graphics.

Russian Car Driver ZIL 130 is not only a fantastic game you can play for free online, but also provides a level depth and complexity that is not usually seen in browser games for your PC. Built in Unity, there are various missions to complete, landscapes to explore and different modes to choose from. You can select from Rally, Cargo Delivery or just free roam around rural Russia. There are also two modes to choose from: Simulator and Arcade.

Arcade is the best mode to choose if you’re looking for a more laid-back experience, whereas Simulator is best for those who like a little more realism in their 3D Driving games. One of our absolutely favorite things about Russian Car Driver is the fact you can just play online, ideal for work or school, and there’s no download required.

Perhaps one of the most popular 3D Driving games you can play online for free, Madalin Stunt Cars 2 is also one of the best. There are 3 maps to choose from and dozens of cars, each rendered in impressive 3D graphics (including gorgeous lighting effects) and kitted out with pretty realistic driving Physics.

Choose from Ferraris, Dodges, Bugattis and more as you navigate a playground of ramps, loop-the-loops and crazy jumps. Once you’ve got your head around the push and pull of the vehicle’s Physics you can get to trying out your craziest stunts.

One of our favorite parts of Madalin Stunt Cars 2 is the fact that you can play multiplayer online with your friends or strangers, including an in-game chat for organizing races or playing games of football with the balls dotted around the map.

This game is a far-cry from the games we used to play on the PC in Math class around 10 years ago. Everything has been upgraded — the cars, the graphics, the fun. Best thing about it? There’s absolutely no download required.

One of the newest games on this list, BR Racing Simulator is a weird mish-mash of San Andreas and Need for Speed. The graphics don’t match up to the newest triple A titles, but for a game you can play free in your browser it’s pretty impressive. BR Racing Simulator runs smoothly in a hardware accelerated Google Chrome, so try it out for the best performance.

You’re a street kid with the baggy jeans, backwards cap and truck loaded up with multiple heavy-duty speakers. It’s a pretty vulgar red, low to the ground, and the tires are more sparkly than Tom Jones’ teeth. It also doesn’t handle very well — wiggles and wobbles all over the place, just like a normal car would if you had to use 3 keys on the keyboard to control it. You’ve also managed to retro-fit this truck with some old school Fast and Furious 2 nitros. Press F to use it.

You progress through the levels…or at least attempt to. The corners are rapid, your drifting is limited to how well you can use the arrow keys, and you opponent glides through the race like they’re on rails. One of the reasons we reckon the initial levels are so tough is because the game is actually lacking in content. We see it often in games like these — 3D titles like this take a while to develop, and instead of taking the content further, developers tend to make the levels and progression extremely grindy so as to make their game appear more worthwhile.

For example, at the start of the game you get 1,000 dollars if you lose the race. And you will lose several times. It’s 5,000 for a change of color, or some new rims. The next car up in the progression list is 60,000. Yeah. Get grinding.

As the name suggests, Highway Racer is a 3D Multiplayer Racing game where you put the pedal to the metal and blast through heavy traffic. Once again built in Unity, Highway Racer is a fun game with comprehensive Driving physics and decent graphics. It’s not quite as pretty as Madalin Stunt Cars, but arguably the gameplay is more compelling.

Highway Racer imitates the classic Endless Driving games where the only task is to keep going and racking up a score. There are four modes to choose from and different settings. Choose from Time Based challenges, driving into oncoming traffic, and tackling rainy weather with extra slide on your wheels.

The Multiplayer mode is a lot of fun. Again, there are different modes to choose from. You’ll find yourself duking it out with players from across the world — but you’ll have to manage plenty of tough conditions and even tougher opponents. One of our favorite game modes is the mode in which the first who crashes, loses. The ultimate score does not matter, or even where you are on the track, although you can get extra/less points during the final score. But, whoever crashes first, loses…

Intense!

Overall, we really enjoy the progression in Highway Racer. You can upgrade your car to a new machine, or customize the vehicle you already have with different paint jobs, driving tweaks and brand new rims.

Based on the hugely popular Rocket League, SocCar is a fun Football Car 3D game you can play in your browser for free. Perfect if you can’t fork out that $20 for the real game, SocCar allows you to get all the Rocket League Action (with a fun Multiplayer mode!) without a single cost.

Use your boost and jump abilities to get the ball from your end of the pitch to the other. In SocCar you’re also kitted out with machine-guns mounted to top of the car, which adds an extra spice and Action to the game. You’ll find yourself doing loop-the-loops and spinning wildly through the air before you start to get a hang of the game.

Not quite as competitive as its main rival, Rocket League, the game is still a lot of fun. You’ll find that you’re not able to quite as actively float around the map with your boost, and often the boost power-ups on the ground are a little glitchy. Some crazy things happen with the ball sometimes too. Watch out for those wacky goals when the ball glitches out and slams into the goal without a chance of stopping it!

Overall, we enjoyed playing this game for this short review: we recommend it if you love Rocket League but you’re stuck at school or at the library without your decent PC or console to play on!

Drift Hunters is a free online 3D driving game. Skid around corners in iconic Drift vehicles from your favorite music videos, films and other classic games. Imitate Tokyo Drift or channel your Initial D racing hero.

You can customize your car in quite some detail, especially if you have any idea about cars or drifting. Drift Hunters allows you to tweak with the car’s engine and upgrade the various parts of the engine and vehicle.

The controls are a little difficult to handle, and the tracks are hard to navigate. There are several tracks to choose from and it’s good to get to know just one track before moving onto another. Each car also performs differently so you’ll have to manage your breaking, drifting and general steering modes to keep up your score and combo.

Developed by Madalin Games, Speed Racing Pro 2 is the Racing brother of Stunt Car. Sporting the same lush graphics with detail landscapes, flashy-looking cars and a range of different vehicles, tracks and game-modes to choose from, Speed Racing Pro 2 is a great way to get your racing fix if you can’t get your hands on the latest Forza game.

Speed around cool tracks in a range of awesome cars and try to beat your opponents, who you can customize and alter to fit your skills and speed. You’ll find the controls a little tricky at first with a keyboard — who knew using three keys to control a car might be an issue? But you’ll soon get a hang of how to brake and take corners to defeat your opponents.

Somewhat realistic, this game doesn’t feature boost, power-ups or any wacky jumps, but sticks to the nitty-gritty of grinding it out against tough A.I opponents. Check it out if you love Racing games you can play in your browser, totally for free. Great for school…in class!

Extreme Offroad Cars 2 is a fun 3D Driving game built in Unity. Navigating tricky courses across a variety of levels in different off road vehicles. There are pros and cons to most of the cars and the tracks obviously differ in difficulty level. Try your hardest to beat the levels in this fun game.

Struggle up hills, over logs, across bridges, streams and other treacherous terrain and be rewarded with delicious points to upgrade your vehicle. Kit out your tires, paintjob and internal workings to get your car as off road friendly as possible. Take your time to understand how much and how little your car can do, and try not to attempt anything too wild before you’ve got a proper grasp of the game mechanics.
